Random Acts of Counselling - 15 September. One day experiential workshop to learn and practice communication and counselling skills. Do you often find yourself listening to other people's problems? Does your role require you to assist people who are having difficulties? This workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to become a better listener and helper and provides an opportunity to learn and try out a range of communication and counselling skills designed to help others.

Toolbox - ‘Survival Skills' for working with young people - 13 October. This workshop explores adolescent development and issues encountered when supporting young people including depression, self injury, suicidal ideation, substance use etc. Learn risk assessment and a range of communication skills & creative strategies to engage young people ‘at risk' of harm.

Creative Toolbox - 11 November. A one-day experiential workshop exploring creativity and demonstrating a range of activities that can be used to help and support people. Explore the role of creativity in problem solving and learning, self-esteem and identity, explore past, present and future using simple art based activities. Experience a range of ‘hands on' tools useful as alternative means of communication, exploring and expressing feelings, techniques to share stories and ideas and much more.

Mental Health – Myths, Madness & Medicine - 8 December. This one day workshop is suitable for anyone who wishes to better their understanding of mental illness including counsellors, teachers, carers, youth/community workers, volunteers, etc. Participants will learn about what defines mental illness, how diagnosis is made and will explore the presenting features and treatment approaches for a range of mental illnesses.

Mental Health Connect - Mental Health Skills for Community Workers

  • As a community worker would you like to know more about mental health?

This program aims to offer knowledge and skills to help you better understand and support people with mental health issues.

Managing Angry Adolescents (MAAD)
MAAD is a full day workshop created by Ken Nathan and Carol Musgrave to equip parents, carers, teachers or anyone working with angry adolescents with the skills to understand their
anger and manage them proactively. It was created in response to requests from parents of teen participants of RAGE groups and service providers working with adolescents.
The MAAD workshop focuses on becoming aware of adolescent behaviour on a cognitive and emotional level whilst also taking into consideration the issues associated with disrupted attachment patterns.
